We’re nearly halfway there…..or are we?

I cannot believe that this is the last week of May, and that June starts….on Friday. How is that even possible?!? Time is whizzing by way too fast sometimes, and I just wanted to take a moment to think about what that means.

It, for me, means that I’m having fun. Working hard, coaching fabulous clients and teaching curious students, developing new materials (remember the name ‘Talk Nerdy To Me’ – coming soon!) and helping artists like Hooverphonic and a few others (sworn to secrecy for the rest, sorry!) with their new material. In the past 5 weeks alone, I’ve worked in Terschelling, Berlin, Brussels, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Gent, Mechelen, Groningen, Eindhoven, and a couple of other places that I can’t remember right now (sorry, places. I’m sure you were lovely!).

I’m on track with my planning for the rest of the year, and boy do I have my work cut out for me. I’m preparing some fun surprises for my Rock Your Business English! event – it’s going to be a blast! When was the last time you learned something while laughing? That’s how a client described my lessons the other day, and I truly believe that humor makes all the difference when it comes to learning, using, and remembering what you’ve learned. If you’d like to work on the 10 (yes, we have 10!!) different degrees of formality in English (to make you sound like a perfect pro in ALL kinds of situations, instead of using the same style all the time), find new vocabulary alternatives to get you out of your communication rut (hello, please stop using ‘nice’, and ‘good’ – you can do so much better!), and know the 5 differences between an English and a Dutch presenting style (you will be shocked!), do join me in September. I truly think this, like all my previous events, will sell out, and this might even happen quite soon. So grab your spot so that you can feel like a total pro in English!

This is how my client Eva felt after rocking the speech we worked on together for a huge international audience at The Next Web in Amsterdam last week! It was an honor to help her shape and share her story. Thank you Eva!

If you’re a songwriter or work with one (or more!), I’ve got just a couple of spaces left for my (scroll down to the bottom of my Event page) Songwriter’s Day, where I offer half-price coaching on lyrics and pronunciation sessions. This is my way of giving back to the music industry, as I know not everyone is a Bertolf, Racoon, Caro Emerald or Chef’Special. If you’d like me to help you like I’ve helped so many artists, grab your spot and I can’t wait to hear your songs!

This week I also had the kick-off for a TV series I’ll be filming for the next 8 weeks. I will tell you more about it when the press release comes out, but I was so honored when I was asked to coach for this program – you’ll see my lessons every week in September! More soon!

And, totally irrelevant, this is my new favorite suit. I hosted the Buma Music In Motion Awards last week, and had a fabulous time celebrating new talent in the music industry. If you want someone to make (dirty) jokes at your next event, let me know!

That’s all for now. Oh, and by the way, your privacy is really important to me. And so is mine. Really important. That’s why I wrote this while hiding under my blanket THE WHOLE TIME.

I hope your first part of the year has been awesome!! Let’s make the second part rock together!
